Later in the evening there's time to practise what you've learnt to some toe-tapping Swing music until 10.30pm or maybe have a cuppa and chat with new friends. The quickest way to improve your dancing is to get up and have a go so don't miss this - we guarantee you'll be dancing on your first evening!
7.50pm - 8pm Upper Hall (ALL LEVELS)
A brief warm up to make sure you're ready for class - you know it makes sense!
8pm - 9pm Upper Hall
If you're new to Lindy Hop, have never voluntarily set foot on a dance floor before or want to refresh or refine your basic moves, this is for you. Consisting of 3 modules, each of 4 weeks, you can start at the beginning of any module. Just click on the Latest News page for course and term dates. You'll learn fun and easy moves designed to get you onto the dance floor with a big smile on your face as well as some basic dance techniques to give you a solid grounding for the future.
8.15pm - 9pm Lower Hall
You will need to have completed all three modules of the Basics Course at least once before joining this level - if you're not sure it's best to ask our advice. In this course, we cover the fundamental core moves of Lindy using some more advanced dance techniques to help you to be a considerate and competent dance partner - this is team work after all!
This class is not suitable for beginners.
JAZZ STEPS CLASS
9pm - 9.45pm Upper Hall
Suitable for ALL LEVELS, this class will give you an excellent grounding in movement, balance and solo dance technique. We cover all the standard steps used in Lindy as well as some fun strolls. You'll also learn how to spice up your basic moves with a little bit of Jazz or Charleston. We're not looking for perfection - just enthusiasm!
9pm - 9.45pm Lower Hall
Now we're into the hard core! To make the most of this level, we expect you to have completed the Fundamentals Course at least once so that we can introduce some fabulous Variations into your dancing. We do not teach basics at this level so this class is not suitable for Beginners or new Intermediates. If you're not sure if you're ready for this one, please ask our advice.
9.45pm - 10.30pm Upper Hall ALL LEVELS
This is the time to get out there and put into practise everything you've learnt. It's the best way to improve - and it's great fun!
