Oxford Swing Dance is very proud to have brought swing dance, in particular Lindy Hop and Balboa, to Oxford and started the thriving swing scene that continues today.  For more than 25 years we have taught regular dance classes and hosted the occasional weekend workshop with some incredible international teachers, such as Simon Selmon, Ryan Francois, Jenny Thomas, Rob and Diane Van Haren, Dan Guest and Christie Rankin. Our regular Saturday swing dances have brought in dancers from far afield, and we have had a wonderful time dancing with you all.

Now that the COVID situation is easing we have decided to refocus our efforts towards the social dance scene as circumstances have changed and we find that we cannot commit to the same level of teaching as we did before. Now seems the right time to step back a little and support the Oxford swing dance scene rather than taking a leading role.

Our first venture is a Sunday swing dance/social event in memory of Pam Hoyland, one of our founding teachers, and to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. We hope you will all come along and bring your happy memories of dancing with Pam, and of course her copious words of dance wisdom that she imparted so freely through the classes and workshops.

There will be tea and cake, plus music if you wish to dance, but most importantly come along and have a good time as we remember Pam and raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Entry is free but we ask that you book a ticket through - osd.dancecloud.com - and bring a lateral flow test result from the morning to provide a safe environment.  There will be a donation box for your contributions.
